A Fantastic Free Tool To Write Your PPC Ads
A few days ago I received an email that was promoting a PPC Ad Writing Software. The software actually didn’t really do that much. To quickly summarize its functionality, it allowed you to compose Google Adwords ads ans the tool showed a warning whenever you exceeded the 25 character limit for the headline, or the 35 character limit for the description lines.
The software also allowed to quickly change the ad text to title-, upper- or lower case with the click of a button. Further, the tooled allowed you to work on a list of ads at the same time and to export them as a text file.
The price for he tool? $37.- Wow! I thought that’s quite quite a bit of a price for not very much.
To compose my ads, I mostly use PSPad Editor. It’s a very powerful editor, you can also use to do your html, javascript… to compare files for text differences… and at least 1000 other cool things. And best of all, this tool is absolutely free. You can download it from www.pspad.com
Below is a screenshot what the tool looks like:

You see the vertical bar at character position 35? You can easily change its position and use it as a marker in order not to exceed the defined character limits for your ads.
When I write my ads, I always do some brainstorming first: I simply write down my ideas without caring about any character limits and without caring about upper- or lower case characters.
Only after that initial brainstorming phase I start editing my ads: I change certain words, I shorten my ads in order not to exceed the character limits for the headline and description lines, and I usually put the ad text in title case.
By the way, you can use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+T to put the first letter of each word into upper case.
So, all in all that’s a simple and powerful solution to write your ads (and to do lots of other things) and it’s absolutely free.
